Robots are coming for our jobs, if you haven’t heard, and NFL quarterback needs to be added to the list of jobs that might be in jeopardy.

Thankfully, most of us don’t have any quarterback skills on our resume, so quarterback drones will only displace a select few of us.

DJI Inspire 1 drones showed of their passing skills at the NFL Pro Bowl Skills Competition in Orlando. The new Drone Drop contest is exactly what it sounds like. A drone holding a football flies above wide receivers and throws – drops – the ball to a receiver on the field.

New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. won the Drone Drop contest after catching a football from a drone 125 feet in the air. You can watch the winning catch below and highlights from Drone Drop in the video at the top of this page.

According to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, FAA approval was given to the use of the drones.
